the new home2022
In contemporary society, the desire for larger living spaces is prevalent, yet the reality, as observed from previous projects, often involves compact spaces. I contemplated the notion that the surplus space might primarily serve psychological satisfaction. Inspired by the idea of sharing these marginal space, I conceived a shared apartment complex featuring a communal central garden to optimize these seemingly small areas.
Deviating from the traditional Korean-style apartments with disconnected floors and households, my vision is for a new living space. This design envisions a residence where people can communicate and forge connections through a shared natural space, despite having minimal individual living spaces. This innovative approach seeks to foster community and interaction within the confines of a compact yet interconnected living environment.
