Rotating cake auditorium2022

I’ve consistently faced challenges wth conventional concert halls, primarily due to their single-directional views. The traditional bottom-to-top orientation often obstructs my line of sight, hindering a clear view of the performance, especially when the audience in front blocks the sightline. In response to the issue, I conceptualized and designed an innovative outdoor auditorium.

The design takes inspiration from a round cake, allowing the auditorium to be divided into individual sections resembling cake slices. This unique configuration facilitates flexible installation in outdoor settings duirng regular occasions, serving as a recreational spot within a park. However, when a performance is scheduled, these individual sections seamlessly combine to create a complete “cake”. The auditorium can then slowly rotate, providing the audience with a 360-degree panoramic view of the performance. This design not only addresses the visibility concerns associated with traditional concert halls but also introduces a dynamic and versatile outdoor entertainment experience.
